Meet Mrs. Heckman

Professional Background: I earned my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education (K–6) from Millersville University in 2010. While staying home to raise my daughters, I remained active in teaching through church involvement and substitute positions. I am now in my third year as the Third Grade Teacher at MCA.

​Favorite Part of Working at MCA: Where do I begin? Year after year, I have had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful families, and I feel tremendously blessed by these relationships. As both a parent and a teacher, I have also experienced MCA’s hybrid program firsthand—my daughters have attended MCA, giving me a unique and deeply personal perspective on how meaningful and effective this program truly is.

 

Family: I live in the Welsh Mountain/New Holland area with my husband and two daughters(7th and 5th grade). 

 

Hobbies: In my free time, I love spending time at the cabin or the bay, biking on the rail trails, reading with a cup of coffee, going for walks, and playing games with friends and family.

Fun Facts: I love playing Scrabble! I love traveling. I’ve had the opportunity to visit Oman in the Middle East and look forward to traveling to Saudi Arabia in the future to spend time with our family. When I’m not at Mainstay, you can find me handling secretarial duties for my husband’s business, Heckman Design and Fabrication.
