Meet Mrs. Cullinane

Professional Background:  I have a Bachelor's Degree from Ashford University in Social Sciences with Education Concentration, A Post-Baccalaureate from Drexel University in Elementary Education, A Master of Science from Drexel University in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum and a K-12 Certificate from Penn State University in English Language Learners Education. I am a K-6 Pennsylvania Certified Teacher with a Level II certificate.  I am also certified to teach in South Carolina.  I have been teaching for over 23 years in Pennsylvania and South Carolina Public Elementary Schools, teaching 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade.  I am so happy to now be the first grade teacher at Mainstay Christian Academy for the 3rd year.

 

Family:  I live just north of Lititz with my husband, 1 dog and 1 cat.  I have 4 children ( 1 is a bonus son!) who are all grown and live on their own. 

 

Hobbies:   I love spending time with my family, especially at the beach.  We love to laugh together about the silliest things! I also love to read, garden, knit and crochet, crafting, listen to music and volunteer at my church.

 

Favorite part of MCA:  There are so many, it is hard to pick one, so I'll give a few!  I love the children I work with, they are so bright and eager to learn, and are raised by incredible parents who take their education seriously.  I also love our directors, who are incredible women to work with, and care about all of us in ways that are beyond special.   When I started working at MCA, I noticed that when I left for the day, I felt so good and happy because I felt like I was doing the job God prepared me for, and working at MCA has brought blessings to me I didn't think would be possible as a teacher.

 

Favorite Verse:  Psalm 46:10- "Be Still, and know that I God;  I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted among the Earth!" This verse has comforted me more times in my life than any other.

 

Fun Facts:   Peanut butter and jelly is my favorite sandwich. Any kind of jelly!  Chocolate is my favorite food, followed by cheeseburgers. My husband and I are avid Ice Hockey fans. I don't know how to ice skate!  My sons played for many years and still play in adult leagues, and I love to still go and watch when I can.  I have travelled to Australia.
